Funeral services for J. Chadwick Wagner, 70, of 98 Orchard Drive, Dillsburg, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Calvary United Methodist Church, Dillsburg.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998 at home.
Born March 20, 1928 in Altoona, he was the son of the late Andrew S. and Dorothy E. Lieb Wagner.
A former civil engineer, he had worked for the former Capital Engineering, King and Gavaris Engineering, and was Dillsburg Borough manager before he retired.
He was a 1952 graduate of Penn State University, a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member and treasurer of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Dillsburg.
Mr. Wagner also belonged to IOOF, York; Dillsburg Senior Citizens Center; Dillsburg Lions Club, where he was past president; South Mountain VFW Post 6771, Dillsburg; Professional Engineers Society; and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was treasurer of the Northern York County Historical and Preservation Society, a volunteer at Bethany Village Retirement Community in Mechanicsburg and chaired the board of New Hope Ministries.
Surviving are his wife, R. Elinor Gayman Wagner of Dillsburg. and two brothers, Gerald of Altoona and William of Winter Park, Fla.
The Rev. Dennis A. Hummel will officiate at services. Burial will be in Dillsburg Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Cocklin Funeral Home, Dillsburg is in charge of arrangements.
