Mrs. Patton was born August 26, 1922, in the Lone Oak Community in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Benjamin and Dallas Orr Hamby. A resident of Meriwether County most of her life, she was a member of Luthersville Baptist Church and was a retired civil service employee, having worked a number of years at the Atlanta Army Depot.
Survivors include her sons, Cullen Patton, Jr. and his wife, Pat of Auburn, AL, Hugh Patton and his wife, Carol of Sharpsburg; granddaughters and their husbands, Jaime and Anthony Long, Ashley and Wes Wilkerson; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Beigle, Kinley Long, Delacey Wilkerson, Colt Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cullen R. Patton, Sr. and grandson, Christopher Patton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, at Luthersville Baptist Church. The Reverend Charles Wright and Dr. Robert Trammell will officiate and interment will be in the Sharpsburg Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night.
