Served in the US Army during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He was an electrician for many years at Burlington Northern and Northern Pacific railroad.
Survived by brother Leo of Whittier CA, and sisters, Venus Taylor of Gardnerville NV and Eleanor Monzel of West St Paul MN; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Charles and Clara Gilcher, loving wife of 63 years, Delores (Grolla) and 3 nephews, Theodore Grolla and Charles and Steven Gilcher.
