Mr. Ronnie Barrs of Irwin County, died at Crisp Ragional Hospital in Cordele. He was 52.
Mr. Barrs was born in Ocilla, Ga., to the late Mollie Woods Barrs and Luther Guyton Barrs. He lived in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties most of his life.
Mr. Barrs was a 1969 graduate of the Irwin County High School. He was a retired automobile salesman with Fitzgerald Ford, Lincoln and Mercury and was a former owner/operator of Barrs Motor Company in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Barrs served in the Georgia National Guard and was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Irwin County. He was a former member of the Fitzgerald Jaycees and the Optimist Club.
He was also a former member of the Irwin County Young Farmers. He was a certified high school refree with the Georgia High School Association. He was an avid hunter and golfer and was a member of the Georgia Golfers Association. Mr. Barrs received the Georgia Long Drive Award in 1984 and 1986.
Survivors include one son, two daughters, one brother and one sister and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
