Born Aug. 3, 1920, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Flossie Clark Shook. A member of Winklers Grove Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Brinkley.
Survivors include a daughter, Mona Odom of Hickory; a brother, Glenn Shook of Hickory; two nephews, Roger G. Shook of Lexington, S.C., and Johnny Shook of Nashville, N.C.; and a niece, Linda McSwain of Hickory.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Dale Faulkenberry at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery. The family will remain at the cemetery after the service.
