I have no explanation for all of the mistakes on the few public documents that exist for "Brant". Most of them seem to come from Brant's grandson, Frank Leslie. Davis, who was the informant on Brants' death certificate where he correctly gave Brants' fathers' name as William F. Davis, but he incorrectly gave his grandmother's name as Louise Jameson when it was actually Lydia Moore Davis. Louise Jameson is also the name of Brants' mother in the obit in the newspaper. Frank L. Davis also gave his grandfathers name, on the certificate, as A.B. Davis. He apparently did not know much about his grandfather. (GES)
