ROBERT CORNETTE Robert Loyd Cornette 58 of Rt 7 Hickory died Friday morning at Veterans Adminis tration Hospital in Asheville. He had been in declining health for several years.
Born in Ashe County on June 2, 1919 he was the son of the late Clinton and Callie South Cornette.
Survivors include his wife Verna Johnson of the home; two daughters Mrs Pansy Bumgamer of Hudson and Mrs Norma Jean Pitts of Longview; three sons John and Larry Cornette of Hickory and Albert Cornette of Hildebran; a sister Mrs Marie Allman of Valdese and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 pm at Hickory Funeral Home chapel. The Rev Raymond Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Sunday night from 7 to 9 o'clock.
