Gary was born April 15, 1944, in Minneapolis to Loran and Georgia (Nicholas) Sedahl. He graduated from Washington High School, Brainerd, in 1962. Gary joined his father in founding the Sedahl Ambulance Service which served Brainerd in the 1960s. After relocating in Tennessee, Gary began a lifelong career in the heating and ventilation industry in several locations throughout southern United States. He was later employed by Ogden and Covanta corporations and was retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loran and Georgia Sedahl.
