Havis Leon "Jack" McCool of Sheridan, Ark., was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Sheridan, the son of the late Havis Harv and Bessie Law McCool. He died Dec. 26, 1996, at his home in Sheridan at the age of 74.

He was a retired mechanic for J.B. Larde, a member of the Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church, leader of the Boy Scouts of American-Sheridan Troop 316 where he had been bestowed the Order of The Arrow. Mr. McCool was also a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors: wife, Roberta Klinger McCool, Sheridan, Ark.; two daughters, Nana Tierman, Sheridan, Ark., Jacquetta Ann Wright, Sheridan, Ark.; brother, Carl McCool, Sheridan, Ark.; two sisters, Geraline Graves, Sheridan, Ark., Dora Anna Land, Benton, Ark.; five grandchildren.
