Richard “Rick” S. Delk, 47, of Camanche, graduated to glory, Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Going Home Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Gateway Baptist Church, Clinton, with Rev. Jon Booth officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Lind, Perry Lind, Greg Lind, Bill Bouchard, Jaycob Pell, and Kevin Wisor. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.

Richard Scott Delk was born on April 15, 1961 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of: T.J. and Mary (Jordan) Delk. He married Jackie Mills on May 16, 2003 in Morrison, Illinois. Rick served in the Iowa National Guard from January 1980 to March 1986. Rick was employed with Economy Systems in the Railroad Division from June 2006-August 2007. He also was formerly Claussen’s Hardware as welder and fabricator.

Rick enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and planting flowers. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the Gateway Baptist Church.

Rick is survived by his wife: Jackie of Camanche; his son: Joshua (Jennifer) Delk of Clinton; a step-son: Justin Mills of Clinton; a step-daughter: Stephanie White of Camanche; four grandchildren: Natalie Delk, Alexandra White, Elizabeth White, and Miley White; his parents: Mary and David Phelps of Camanche; two sisters: Bonny (John) Young of Clinton; Shannon (Kevin) Wisor of Schaumburg, Illinois, his brother; Michael (Brenda) Delk of Arkansas; and his maternal grandmother: Virginia Phelps of Camanche and his beloved dog: Millie.

Rick was preceded in death by his father: T.J. Delk, his grandfathers, and his paternal grandmother, and a nephew: Randy Olsen. The family requests that memorials be made to the family.
