William Ira Nelson, 78, resident of Urania and a retired contractor, died Saturday
night, Feb. 10, in a Columbia hospital. He was the father of Mrs. Andrew Jenkins of
Winnfield.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Urania Methodist Church with the
Rev. Doris Darman, Rev. W. A. Massey, and the Rev. Mr. Sandel
officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jenkins, Winnfield, Mrs. E. B. Fletcher,
Port Neches, Texas, and Mrs. Bruce Gough, Olla; three sons, Ray and
W. C. Nelson, both of Urania and J. D. Nelson, Arp, Texas; 13 grandchildren, nine
great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Fred Mindard, Lonnie Wilson, Glen Tannehill, George Shelton, Max
Maxwell, and Don Corley.
