William C. Kendall, Sr., 80, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 29th at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery.
William was born July 25, 1934 to Alma Sylvanus and Ethel Kay (Bunyard) Kendall. He graduated from Northeast High School before starting his career as an electrician with IBEW #124 doing commercial work. He married Janice (Crowder) and together had three children before her death. William participated in the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Boys Scouts of America as Leader, and Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He purchased Mugs Up Rootbeer with his soon to be wife in 1978. As a business leader he also participated in Independence Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Health. His family remembers him as dedicated, hard working, and very active in the community.
William is survived by son, William C. Kendall, Jr.; son, Robert L. Kendall and wife Donna; and daughter, Linda Viana all of Independence, MO; numerous grand and great grandchildren; and ex-wife of 30 years, Anne Hinojosa. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Janice and son-in-law, Ray Viana. The family encourages contributions to Vitas Hospice in his memory.
