Andrew "Andy" B. Peterson (also listed as Anderson on census records and as Anders Peterson on daughter's death certificate). He was born in May of 1824 in Sweden.

(see story below about son Peter, also son John's and daughter Adeline's obituaries listed Peter Benhart as their brother)

1900 Renovo, Clinton, PA, John Anderson 52 born May 1848 Sweden, arrived 1869, was naturalized, single, a Car Inspector, living with Chas and Edaline Peterson and family, also his father Andy Peterson, 75, born June 1824 Sweden, arrived 1880, widowed.

Renovo Man's Surprise While Visiting Ridgway.
Inquisitive middle aged man proved to be his son, whom he had not seen for thirty years.
Ridgway, Aug. 30. A. Peterson, of Renovo, came here a few days ago on a visit to his son. While sitting on the front porch of his son's residence he was approached by a man of middle age who began conversation with the elderly gentleman by asking him about relatives and affairs that pertained to Sweden thirty years ago. The young man's questions became so direct and curious that Mr. Peterson exclaimed, Who are you anyway. The query brought out the fact that the stranger was his own son Peter, who left the family home in Sweden thirty years ago coming to the United States and settling in Nebraska, where he now owns a large farm. He knew his brother lived here and had come east to pay him a surprise visit. He had been directed to the house, and on nearing it saw a man upon the porch whom he readily recognized as his father.

A Human Interest Tale.
That was a human interest story in the Sun yesterday from Ridgway, in which was related how an aged father from Renovo while visiting at the home of one son Ridgway, was accosted by a stranger who proved to be another son whom he had not seen for thirty years. To be sure it was not the prodigal son type of incident, for in this case, away out there on his Nebraska farm, this son has accumulated wealth and enjoyed prosperity. And again, in this case, it was not the father who knew the returning son afar off, but it was the son who, seeing an old man rocking alone on the front porch of a house, recognized him as the father whom he had not seen for half an ordinary lifetime. And then, too, there was the elder brother. When he learned that the younger brother who had gone into a far country, many years before, had returned, did not go into a fit of pout over it, but, as had the father a few moments before, he extended the welcome on a fond heart, so that the reunion was so gladsomely wrought as to make of it a story seldom surpassed in human interest outside the pages of fiction.

1910 Renovo, Clinton, PA, John Anderson 61, single, living with brother-in-law Charles & Adeline Peterson, also his father Andrew Anderson 86, born abt 1824 Sweden, widowed.

Andrew died on Nov. 14, 1914 at Renovo, PA. He was 91 years old, widowed, and a retired laborer. Andrew was buried at the North Bend Cemetery on Nov. 21st. Chas. Peterson of Renovo, PA was the informant on his death certificate.
