Nov. 25, 1927 - Feb. 26, 2016 Alva Colvin "Bubba" Allums, 88, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2016. He passed away peacefully with his daughter Beth by his side at Singing River Hospital. Bubba, as he was called, was born on November 25, 1927 in Leakesville, MS to the late James Talton Allums and Lena Elizabeth Amsler Allums. He was a soldier of World War II in 1945 and then the Korean War in 1950. He went on to graduate with a B.S. from USM. He met the love of his life, Addie Lucy Stegall, there at Southern, they married and spent 54 years together before she passed away in 2007. Also preceding Bubba in death is his twin sister Betty Jean Allums Platt, sisters Olive Allums Burton, Nannette Allums Breland, brothers Jamie Talton Allums, Frederick Guyton Allums, granddaughter Toni Lynn Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are his brother Donald Lynn (Jamie) Allums, two children Terrence Lee (Lavora) Allums, Beth Allums Johnson, grandchildren April Lee Allums (Jon) Ashworth, Joshua Lee (Cassie) Allums, Michael Anthony Johnson, two great-grandchildren Riley Allums, Caleb Ashworth, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He became an insurance adjuster, first as self-employed, then later working at Ingalls doing workman comp cases before retiring. Bubba was a devoted family man and faithful member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church. He loved his family and the great outdoors with hunting, fishing and golf as his hobbies. Visitation will be Monday Feb. 29, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Services will be at 7:00pm in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Ware from Eastlawn UMC officiating. Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of services
