William H. Arnold, Sr., 83, of rural Minden, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Kearney Cemetery with Rev. Doug Shada officiating. Military rites at graveside will be conducted by the Kearney American Legion Post #52, the Kearney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #759 and the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.
William was born on August 9, 1931 in Wythe County, Virginia to Hobart P. and Fanny (Dean) Arnold. He married Elna Schneider on November 27, 1954 in Marysville, KS. He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Later, he worked for the Bear Brand Hosiery Company, the Kearney Hub and finally West Company in Kearney.
William is survived by his wife, Elna Arnold of Minden; Daughters, Marcia McMurty of Houston, TX and Wilma and Leo Heinowski of Ravenna, NE; Son, Willy and Lee Ann Arnold of Papillion, NE; 3 Sisters; 6 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild.
William was preceded in death by his Parents; 3 Brothers; 2 Sisters and 1 Grandson
