Harry Edwin Atherton was born Jan. 8, 1885 in Oketa, KS. and departed this life at the home of his parents of typhoid fever that had so weakened his system that nothing could be done medically or with love.
Harry was a good, kind, loving son and brother and a good farmer and loved to watch things grow. His life has been spent in Walton Township where he was very well liked. He was a young man with no bad habits which makes it harder for the family as they buried their youngest child less than 2 years ago. Flora, the only child still at home is suffering from the same malady but is improving nicely.
Rev. Poe of the Christian Church in Plainville conducted the funeral service at the M.E. Church at Zurich on Jan. 6th. Rev. Poe paid a kindly tribute to his memory. Harry leaves his father, mother, sister Flora at home, brother George of Ellis, a brother Ora, sister Mrs. Gish who live in Okla. a large concourse of friends followed the coffin to its final resting place in the Zurich cemetery.
