Mr. Clyde Ronald Abernathy, of Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the family residence, the same home in which he was born sixty-nine years earlier.

He was born in Adairsville, November 2, 1945, son of the late Rev. Elihue and Zonnia Paris Abernathy. Mr. Abernathy was a long-time resident of the Stoner Community in Adairsville, where he was a deacon and song leader at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church. He had been employed as head of the paint division with Bartow County.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Janelle Baker Abernathy, 2 sons, Shayne (Marlene) Abernathy of Adairsville and Dwayne (Sonja) Abernathy of McDonough; a daughter, Amanda (Randy) Womack of Cartersville; grandchildren, Beth, Nickie, and Lisa Womack, Rylan, Jamison, Monique, and Rhyanne Abernathy; a great-grandchild, Ava Abernathy; brothers, Lynn Abernathy and Jeffrey Abernathy both of Adairsville, Lamar Abernathy and Kenny Abernathy both of Ava, Missouri; and a sister, Carolyn Hayes of Adairsville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church with Ministers Ralph Shook, David Baker, Randy Jackson and Jeremy Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Rylan Abernathy, Tommy Baker, Daryl Parker, Jeff Abernathy,
