Redfield - Services for Otto A. M. Monson will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church here. Mr. Monson died Monday at his home. He was 77.

The Rev. John Sheild will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Masonic graveside rite will be conducted.

Mr. Monson was born July 27, 1887 in Iowa. He came to Redfield in 1909 and had lived here until his death. He was married to Sarah Straw September 9, 1921 in Redfield.

He was a musician and piano technician. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Redfield, the Eastern Star, the Masons, the Yelduz Shrine Temple in Aberdeen and World War I Veterans.

Survivors include his widow; one brother, Art of Bode, Iowa and two sisters: Mrs. John Jung of Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Ada Rolland of Osage, Iowa.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Coleman Funeral Home.

Otto Monson, early resident of Bode, Iowa died at his home in Redfield, S.D., Monday, March 1 (1965).

He was the oldest son of a family of ten children of Mr. and Mrs. M.O. Monson.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie, one brother, Art; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Rolland of Osage, Iowa and Thelma, Mrs. John Jung of Lake Orion, Michigan.

The funeral was Friday and John Saxton of Fort Dodge flew his plane accompanied by Mrs. Don Pieper, Art Monson and Ada Rolland. Mr. Saxton and Mrs. Pieper are nephew and niece of the deceased. Otto Monson was very musical and for many years was a piano tuner.
