Anna P. Thomas, 89, died Monday at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. She was a resident of Indianapolis.
She was born Feb. 26,1904, in Monroe County. Her parents were Thomas Owings and Amanda (Grubb) Owings. She was first married to London S. Martin, who preceded her in death. She later married Ellis Thomas. He also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Merrick of Hartshorn, Okla.; a son, John T. Martin of Shelbyville; a sister, Alice Walters of Bloomington; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Meridian Church of God.
A service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Meridian Church of God, 7800 South Meridian St. in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home in Indianapolis. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery
