Born on April 4, 1948 at White Oak, he was the son of the late Finley Basham and Cemantha Meadows Nutter.
Mr. Basham was a retired truck driver for Basham’s Garage in White Oak, and was of the Pentecostal faith. He had made his home in White Oak for most of his life. Mr. Basham loved to fish, and watching old western movies.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jamie Basham and her companion Shane Ragland of Shady Spring, a grandson, Matthew Lane Ragland, a sister, Vickie Atterson with whom he made his home at Crow; a step daughter, Amy Richardson of Sophia, and a nephew Anthony Ayers, of Grandview, W.Va.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Southern, WV for the excellent care given to Mr. Basham. They also give special thanks to his cousins, Drema Berry and Debbie Myles, and his good friend Roger French for their care and concern given to him.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 8 p.m., with Rev. Kenny Webb officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
