Mrs. Sarah E. Stoetzel, 80, Dies at Home of Her Niece
Sarah E. Stoetzel, widow of Henry Stoetzel, died this morning at the home of her niece, Miss Minnie H. Agne, 410 William St., with whom she had resided for the past 14 years.
Mrs. Stoetzel was born in Churchville, Nov. 10, 1862, daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret Weidrick Klein, and was married to Henry Stoetzel in Churchville, April 5, 1888. He died Dec. 25, 1928. With the exception of her residence in this city, she had always resided in the town of Verona.
She was a member of ST. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Churchville, and the Willing Workers Society of that Church. While living in Rome, she attended St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Stoetzel is survived by one sister, Mrs. Carrie Agne, Verona, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Stoetzel who died Friday, were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of her niece, Miss Minnie M. Agne, 410 Williams St.
The Re. Paul H. Gassmann, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and the Rev. Theodore A Schrader, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Churchville, officiated. Miss Florence Agne sang “Abide With Me,: and “Good Night and Good Morning.”
There were flowers from ST. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Churchville; Willing Workers, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid of St. John’s Lutheran Church, neighbors, relatives and friends.
Bearers were Alfred Freislich, George Kline, William Oswald, Walter Agne, Fred Klein and Howard Klein. Interment was made in Churchville Cemetery.
