Robert (Bob) Lee Shipman was born to Juanita Hazel Edwards and Morris Samuel Shipman in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 24, 1935. He was one of six children. He passed away on May 16, 2015 in Centennial, Colorado due to complications from cancer. He was a 1953 alumni and senior baseball pitcher for Capitol Hill High School and in the minor leagues for the Yankees. Bob worked in the oil field and then as a car salesman, where he won many sales awards. He was a hard worker and loved his family dearly. He lived in Oklahoma City until the age of 58 and then moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado to be near his daughter. He was married to Grace Carolyn Cantwell October 3, 1953, who preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his daughters Kemie Diane Houston, Kellye Ann Burns; sister, Delma Staples; brother, Pat Shipman; grandchildren, Jamie Rom, Raechel Harjo-Burns, Julie Britton, Jerrad Burns and Tanner Houston; and great-grandchildren, Evan Britton, Chloe Rom, Leilani Harjo, Reilyn Britton, son of Jerrad Burns and Brooklyn Rom. He will be missed greatly. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm Friday. Funeral ceremony will be held 10am Saturday at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens. To share condolences, please visit resthavenokc.com
