After a short illness of double pneumonia, Mrs. Nancy Adams, widow of John Adams, died at her home at Bowling Green near Sutton, Monday evening of this week.

She was the daughter of Jordan and Delilia Skidmore Cogar, born September 25, 1857. Her mother was a granddaughter of Captain John Skidmore, who participated in the Battle of Point Pleasant.
On July 25, 1884, she was united in marriage with John Adams, who was twice sheriff of this county, and to them the following children were born: Mrs Hannah Rutherforrd, at home; Pierson B Adams, of Burning Springs, WV; Mrs. Delila Morrison, of Sutton RFD; Mary Ann Adams, deceased; Mrs. Eloise Beamer, of California; Mrs. Jordie Dean, of Greentown, OH; John Adams, of Sutton RFD; Jennifer Adams, at home; and William Morgan Adams, deceased.

Mrs. Adams was a woman of fine Christion character, and was highly esteemed wherever she was known. Sympathetic by nature, she was a good neighbor and a most loyal and helpful friend. No one stood higher in her community and her going is greatly deplored.

Her husband died a number of years ago.

Rev. E. C. Zinn conducted funeral services in the Sutton Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday at 11 a.m. and interment was made in the Sutton Cemetery.
