Mrs. Ivy M. Tharp, senior citizen of the Lizton community, died early Sunday morning in the Hendricks County Hospital at the age of 87. She had been a patient there for one week.
Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon from the Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. James I. Shockley officiating. Burial was in the North Salem Fairview Cemetery.
A native of Montclair, she was born Feb. 24, 1882, the daughter of Ruben and Margaret Gentry Foster. She was the widow of the late Bert Tharp who preceded her in 1952. She was a member of the Montclair Christian Church and the Ladies Aid of the church and a charter member of the Lizton Home Economics Club.
Survivors include a son, Merrill Tharp, Crawfordsville, and one grandson, Theodore Tharp, Speedway.
