He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Rock river Conference 1844 F 1846 Located 1850 Readmitted Genesee (now Western New York) Conference 1857 Located 1871 Readmitted Erie 1876. He served Byron, Genesee Co., Genesee District, NY 1857-1860 - Lancaster, Erie Co., Buffalo Dist., NY 1858 - East Otto, Cattaraugus Co., Olean Dist., NY - Byron and Elba NY 1861, Williamsville and Bowmansville, Erie Co., Buffalo Dist., NY 1867-1868.
