He was brought to Port Washington by his parents when only two years old and he lived to the age of 80. He married Pauline Loesser of Milwaukee. Soon after their marriage they moved to Highland Park, Illinois, where he engaged in the building business. They had four children: Fred, Jr.(Alice Kurst); Albert; Mildred; Olive (Ernest Armentrout).
