Services for Mrs. Laura Frances Carter, 85, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Sept. 21, in the Craig Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dave Poland officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Mo.

Mrs. Carter, the daughter of Charles W. Anibal and Ellen Etta Guilliams Anibal, was born Sept. 9, 1895, in Craig. She died Thursday morning, Sept. 18, in the Fairfax Community Hospital.

She was united in marriage to Ray Carter of Mound City, June 26, 1918, in Nevada, Mo. To this union were born three children, Barbara (Mrs. Dean Heck), of Dunlap, Ia.; Annette (Mrs. Hobart Lewis), Yuma, Ariz., and Philip Carter, of Indian Wells, Calif.

Frances lived in Craig all of her life, except for a few years in Mound City, and Tarkio. She was a member of the Craig Presyterian Church, a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the World War II Barracks and Auxiliary, and the Craig Sorosis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Carter; her brother, Fred Anibal, and one great-grandson, Curtis Farnsworth of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Survivors include her three children; one sister, Josephine (Mrs. Sam Gaffney), of Craig; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Those who served as pallbearers were Tom Miller, Harold Gray, Frank Gates, Harry Dukes, Henry Taylor, and Lewis Foster.

Mrs. Gary Wennihan, soloist, sang "How Great Thou Art," and "It Will Be Worth It All", accompanied by Perry Scott.
