Allen Benton was born 18 Nov. 1801, in Otis, Berkshire, Massachusetts, son of Abraham & Lois Kibbe Benton. He married Deidamia Walker on 9 Jan 1821 and they had 8 children: John Sarjant 1821-1848, Asa Ervin 1822-1900, Lois Elizabeth 1825-1900 , Alva Washington 1827-1903, Rowena Deidamia 1830-1889, Abram Allen 1833-1898, Gilbert Eliga 1835-1908 and Lucy Ann 1842-1902. After his wife of 36 yrs passed away, he then married Anna Beckwith in Sept 1857. Allen Benton died on 18 Mar 1864 at the age of 62.
