Champion Turpin was the son of William Turpin. He married Susannah Turpin his cousin on May 29, 1797 in Madison County, Kentucky (Volume 2 - Bonds). See copy of their marriage bond.

To this union four children were born Mary, John, James and Susan.

After Susannah's death Champion remarried on December 27, 1849 to Elizabeth Hullett in Chariton County, Missouri.

Age at death 81 years 4 months 2 days.

Old Plat map shows their neighbors are Jesse Brooks, John Sportsman, John Davis and Jemima Veal all living in Twp. 054N-018W in Section 4.

Champion buys land on March 1, 1831 Document 3713 Twp.054N-018W Section 9 and again on January 10, 1840 Document 13975 Twp.054N-018W Section 4.

The 1810 Census Clay County, Kentucky.

The 1840 Census shows him living in Chariton County, Missouri.

The 1850 Census shows him living in Chariton County, Missouri with his second wife Elizabeth. Neighbors are Jesse Brooks, Elam's and Jesse Bradley.
All are buried in the Brooks Cemetery.

I have the 1932 listing for the Brooks Cemetery. Which shows Susannah and Champions burials. Brooks Cemetery is located in Twp. 054N-018W Section 4.

We were at the Brooks Cemetery in 2012 and did not find their cemetery stones.
