ADVANCE, Mo. -- Carolyn Jo Benson, 79, of Advance passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Blytheville, Arkansas, daughter of Beauford and Fannie Elizabeth Boyd Turner. She and Joe Benson were married Nov. 28, 1953, in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death April 28, 1996.

Carolyn was of the Baptist belief and had attended Zalma General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat (Doug) Hunt of Friedheim and Donna (Aaron) Lingle of Advance; a sister, Betty Hubbard of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren, Shellie Gamel, Josh Lineberry, Matt Lineberry and Blake Lingle; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emmie Gamel and Issac Lineberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Aaron Lingle officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
