Michael Gurnish, Aerospace Retiree

Michael Gurnish, 61, of 1497 Hammel St., was dead on arrival this morning at St. Thomas Hospital after being stricken at home. He had been ill since March.
Mr. Gurnish was born in Czechoslovakia. He was employed for 21 1/2 years by Goodyear Aerospace at the time of his death and had been a rubber baker and was with the vinyl department. He was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and the Greek Catholic Union 408.
He leaves his wife, Jennie; sisters Mrs. Mary Lee Gaskill and Mrs. Mary Perry, Akron, Mrs. Betty Zabarsky, Cleveland, and Mrs. Ann Meinzer of Mentor; and brothers John and Joe Gurnish and John Rekettye, all of Akron.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Akron chapel. A rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
