Member of the class of 1874 of the University of Rochester, took his degrees of Bachelor or Arts and Master of Arts from that institution. After graduation, he entered the New York Homeopathic Medical College from which he graduated in 1887, was in active practice in Rochester and had been, from its organization, one of the staff of the Homeopathic Hospital, having done service in both the medical and surgical sides of the house. He was a member of the New York State, Western New York and Monroe County Medical Societies, and was in 1885, president of the last named organization.
