VASS - Samuel Watkins Burwell , 70, of Route 2 died Saturday at his residence.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Vass Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Vass, he was a farmer.
Surviving are wife, Voila Chavis Burwell ; sons, Norman D. Burwell of Chester, Va., Samuel T. Burwell of Vass; daughter, Connie A. Burwell of Vass; brother, A. R. Burwell of Oxford; sisters, Frances B. Clark, Sallie B. Briggs, both of Oxford.
Powell Funeral Home of Southern Pines is in charge of arrangements.
