Maria S, was the first wife of George Washington Harrison, Sr. Her maiden name may be "Sewell," but I've seen no documentation to support it.

They had Harrison children:

Clement "Clem"Daniel, 9 Apr 1823 - 1 Mar 1891 (Martha E "Cramblitt")*

Charles Robert, 10 May 1824, below

William, 5 Aug 1828, below

Benjamin T., 29 Aug 1828 - 1878

Sarah Elizabeth, 8 Apr 1831 - ?

Martha Ann, 26 Jul 1832 - 21 Dec 1887 (3x's: Robt. Harrison, Claiborne H. Mannar, Harrison Turner), below

The Harrison Family burying ground is on private property. I'd driven by it before with cousins after we heard about it. I received permission from the owner over the phone at a mattress/furniture store, to see the cemetery. I first saw her marker after it was retrieved from under the deep briar patch, surrounded by trees and weeds. Her relative's young grandson (from memory) had crawled in, unearthed it and dragged it out. I met him at the MD Archives and he said he had cleaned the marker somewhat and returned it to the edge of the patch. It was leaning against the patch when I saw it. The rest were buried in the neglected patch. About 5 to 7 years later, the area under the patch was extensively cleaned up by family members and later fenced in, as it is now.

*On the 1880 Calvert Co., census, Clement "Clem" D Harrison was age 57; wife Martha E, 37; son Geo H, "30;" Wm D, 17; John D, 15; Stephen G, 13; Joseph J, 11; Frank T, 11 and Florence M, 7). In 1870 Clem was on the census and son George was only 10. Clem died in "1891," per family records. On 15 Jul 1869, son Clement "Clem" Daniel had a son Joseph J Harrison.

The last 2 lines of her grave marker are harder to read.
