Ernestine Bell (Brooks) Bosserman, 88, widow of Hansford Jones Bosserman, of First Street, Staunton, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at her son’s home in Roanoke.
Mrs. Bosserman was born on September 4, 1926 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Ernest Leroy and Annie Blanch (Grow) Brooks.
Ernestine retired in 1985 from American Safety Razor as a machine operator.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bosserman was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Bosserman; two brothers, Ernest Brooks and Robert Brooks; and three sisters, Helen Caywood, Janet Wilkins and Evelyn Heath.
Surviving is a son, Gary D. Bosserman and his wife Linda of Roanoke; a brother, Bill Brooks of MD.; three grandchildren, Brian Bosserman of Raleigh, NC, W. A Bosserman and his wife Amy of Logan, WV and Lisa Bartley and her husband Kevin of Sugar Grove, WV; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her residence.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Chaplain Troy Mays.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care of Roanoke for their care and compassion shown during Mrs. Bosserman’s illness.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
