James Alwyn Ketner, 83, Flintstone, passed away Thursday May 14, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Ketner was a life long resident of the North Georgia area and was retired from DuPont after more than 30 years of service. James was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ where he was an elder for more than 40 years. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War.

He was a son of the late, Eric and Mary Little Ketner; and was preceded in death by his brothers, Jackie and Freddie Ketner; and sister, Johnnie Tutton.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Helen Hickman Ketner; sons, James Lebron (Jackie) Ketner, Flintstone and Daleth Lynn (Tammy) Ketner, Ringgold; sister, Darlene Ketner (Aubrey) Bradford, Rossville; granddaughter, Jessica Ketner (Jon) Brenneman, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Reid Perry and Carl Seigenthaler officiating. Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family will receive friends 2-8 PM Sunday and 11-1 PM Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
