Charles J. Hanson was born at Kalmar, Sweden on October 18, 1850. He came to the U.S. in 1869 and married Christine Jacobson in 1876. They farmed near the head of Sauk Lake. They had 3 children; Carl, Vendla, and Herman. Jennie Jacboson was another child, the daughter of Christine's first marriage to John Jacobson.
