John E. Ferguson, age 74 of Waldo passed Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1940 in Vestry, MS.

John was a supervisor for Alcoa and retired after forty two years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was also a member of the Magnolia OES 278 Masonic Lodge. He loved music and enjoyed traveling to various Bluegrass festivals. John also loved to garden. Every year he raised a garden and he enjoyed giving the harvest away to family and friends. John always enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was always willing to help someone in need. Above all he was a family man and his greatest joy came from spending time with them. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Stanley Ferguson, one sister, Lorraine Woodward and mother in law, Allie Fletcher Reaves Black.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55yrs, Jill Reaves Ferguson of Waldo, AR; one daughter, Terri Dodson and husband, Mike of Emerson, AR; one son, John "Bud" Ferguson and wife, Diane of McNeil, AR; two granddaughters, Jenni Sutterfield Daniel and husband, Jeff,
and Julia Ferguson both of McNeil, AR; one grandson, Alexander "Sasha" Ferguson of McNeil, AR; one great granddaughter, Addie Hughes of McNeil, AR; two sisters, Elaine Elam and husband, Ron of Lincoln, MO; Estelle King and husband, Elvin of Lucedale, MS; three brothers, Leland Ferguson and wife, Pat of Perkinston, MS; Luther Ferguson and wife, Lynn of Perkinston, MS; Eddie Hicks and wife Cynthia of Lucedale, MS; brother in law and life time friend, Jack Reaves of Stephens, AR.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.
