Potter Gill and Sarah Ross were married on Dec 6, 1869 at the Parish church of Calverley, St Wilfred in the County of York, England.

Potter immigrated to America in 1871, and lived in Davenport, Iowa.
Potter was naturalized in May, 1876 in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa.
Potter and his family moved to Kansas, living in Brown (1880) and then Topeka (1885).
Potter was a talented Stone Mason, and worked as a Stone Contractor.
He helped build the State Capitol building in Topeka, Kansas.

Aged: 61 years, 3 mos, 25 days.

The family was living in Brown Township, Edwards County, Kansas, on the 1880 Federal Census, which was on the south side of the Arkansas River from Kinsley, thus the reference to the 'south side.'
