Mrs Sarah (Gushwa) McLaughlin, 67, died suddenly about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon of a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs Charles Priest, 44 North Twenty-third street, Lafayette. Mrs McLaughlin had been bedfast for about two weeks before her death, but had apparently recovered. She was found dead. Born in Lafayette on April 23, 1867, she was the daughter of Lewis and Mary Ely gushwa. She was married, twice, first to William Shearer on June 21, 1885, and following his death in 1900 to L J McLaughlin, who died in 1932. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Charles Priest and Mrs Fred L Osborn; a stepdaughter, Mrs William Primmer, and a stepson, M R McLaughlin, all of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs Mary Primmer, of Lafayette, and Mrs Peter Killian, of Clarks Hill, and four brothers, Thomas, of Lafayette; James, of Jamestown, N D ; Jerry of Illinois and David in Canada. The body was removed to the Templeton funeral home and will be returned to the Priest residence where friends may call after 6 o'clock Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be conducted from Grace U B church, of which she was a member, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev M E Reed officiating, and burial will be in Isley cemetery
