Private First Class Foster Strange was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division.

During a training exercise, the hose to a flame thrower broke and severely burned him. He was evacuated to the 8055th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital where he died on May 3, 1952, age 18.

Private First Class Strange was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
