Jane Barger Dawson of Bybee, TN born November 4, 1923 passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cam L. Barger and Bernice Harned Barger; her husband of 52 years, Sanford Blaine Dawson; sister, Alma Faye Barger Blazer; son-in-law Dr. Russell Zwingman; daughter-in-law, Sherian Harbin Dawson; daughter-in-law, Margie Tatum Dawson; and grandson, Michael Shane Dawson.
She is survived by five children: Karen Zwingman of Saginaw, Michigan; Ronald and Betty St. John Dawson of Johnson City, TN; Donald and Elaine Volk Dawson of Woodinville, WA; Jess Dawson of Morristown, TN and Tommy Dawson of Sarasota, FL; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was very active in the Glendale United Methodist Church playing the piano, as treasurer, and Sunday School teacher. She was past matron of the Eastern Star and taught public school music and private piano lessons for many years at Centerview Elementary School.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Harned Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Spell and Rev. Ned Ramsey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Harned Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Harned Chapel United Methodist Church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Annette Harned Berney, with “for Old Harned Chapel Cemetery Fund” or the Harned Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
