She was born April 4, 1928, in Butler to the late to William Mahood and Cora (Morgan) Mahood.
Mrs. Whitesell was a homemaker and a Protestant. She was a member of the Tanglewood Center, and she enjoyed traveling, puzzle books, bird watching and was an avid reader.
Mrs. Whitesell is survived by one son; two daughters; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Ralph Whitesell, who she married May 7, 1950, and who passed away March 7, 1990; and four sisters, Virginia Fratto, Mildred Beachem, Emily Geibel and Margaret Corbin.
WHITESELL - There will be no public visitation for Gladys L. (Mahood) Whitesell, who died Monday, May 4, 2015. A memorial service will be later at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Private burial will take place in the White Oak Springs Cemetery.
