Funeral services for Josie Anderson, 92, of Frederick, were held today at the Burkhardt Chapel in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Peevyhouse, Pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was to follow at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home.
She died Friday, June 16, 2006, at Memorial Hospital and Physician Group of Frederick. She was born July 6, 1913, to Mr. & Mrs. Frank Martinez in Frederick.
She attended Frederick Schools. She married Ray Anderson on Jan. 27, 1927, in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1978. For more than 40 years she worked at Frederick Memorial Hospital where she received numerous employee awards and recognitions for her outstanding service. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Susie Martinez.
She is survived by her daughter, Aline Cleveland and husband Lefty of Abilene, Texas; two sons, Frank Anderson and wife Charlene of Grandfield, and John Anderson and wife Carolyn of Longview, Texas; a brother, J.B. Martinez and wife Elise of California; seven grandchildren, David Cleveland, of Hawaii, Tony Cleveland of Dallas, Kirk Cleveland of Bastrop, Texas, Kevin Anderson of Oklahoma City, and David Ingle of Henrietta; numerous great-grandchildren; and special friends, Annie Mitchell and James and Marilyn Hutton.
