Billie Jewel Birdsong, 80, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born March 30, 1935, in Red Onion, Arkansas, to the late Joseph Stewart and Montie Phillips Stewart Wagner.

She graduated from Bay High School. She worked at Frolic Footwear, was a sitter for the elderly, worked at Shur-Valu Stamp Store and was owner and operator of Ceramic Studio. She retired from Methodist Hospital (now NEA Baptist). She love to go to the lake, bowl, read, do ceramics and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Diane Birdsong of Jonesboro, Kenny Birdsong of Needham, Bruce Birdsong (Michelle) of Searcy and Brenda Birdsong Waters (Eugene) of Jonesboro; two brothers, Oscar Stewart of St. Louis and Jerry Wagner of Olive Branch, Miss.; a sister, Joan Wagner Freeman of Benton; seven grand-children, Danielle Birdsong Wildrick (Joel) of Jonesboro, Jessica Birdsong of Trumann, Seth Birdsong of Brownsville, Tenn., Hunter Birdsong and Haden Birdsong, both of Searcy, Brittany Waters and Erin Waters, both of Jonesboro; and a great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, William Wagner; and three brothers, Joe Stewart, Dale Stewart and John "Dub" Wagner.

A celebration of her life was held in Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Philadelphia Cemetery.
