Edna died on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2005 at Colonial Manor in Lakefield, Minnesota at the age of eighty-seven years.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Plath; daughter, Mary Corley; grandsons, Ronald and Gary; sister, Christine Brewington; four brothers, Carl, William, Harold and Roald Vagle and other relatives.
