Cochran - Jewel W. “J.” Arnold, age 93, died Thursday in Serenity Place in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Bethany Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Arnold, born in Bleckley County, moved to Macon in 1956 and returned to Cochran in 1992. He was the son of the late Marion J. and Vallie Wilson Arnold and was preceded in death by his first wife Sybil Williamson Arnold. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his children, Marion “Bug” Arnold and Gladys Joe Arnold Stroup and grandchildren, Dewayne Arnold and Jason W. Arnold. He was owner and operator of J.W. Arnold Construction in Macon and was former president of Macon Home Builders Association. He had worked at the Brunswick Ship Yard building Liberty Ships and Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon with the CCC. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 608 Highway 26 east, Cochran, GA 31014.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Mathis Funeral Home.
