Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late John Edwin and Abigail Louise Ratledge. Susanne attended Gunning Bedford High School in Delaware City, DE from 1964 to 1968 and the International Correspondence School in Scranton, PA, where she received her High School diploma in 1969. From 1972 to 1987, Susanne was a babysitter. She worked for the Red Lion Bus Company in Bear, DE for 2 years and from 1970 to 1972 she was a clerk for Mortgage Service Corporation in Wilmington, DE. Susanne was a member of Red Lion United Methodist Church, Bear, DE from 1950 to 1977 and Red Lion Evangelical Free Church, Bear, DE from 1977 to 1980.
Susanne is survived by her sister, Mary Frances Ratledge of New Castle, DE; cousins, Mary Clayton of Tallahassee, FL, Jim Willis of Baton Rouge, LA, Bill Willis of Austin, TX, Mary and Peter Ratledge of Townsend, DE and Pal and Shirley Durborow of Oxford, PA.
Funeral Service will be 11am, Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10am. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
