Born July 29, 1929, in Salem, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arley and Opal Mae Currey.
Arol retired as a captain after 23 years in the Marine Corps, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour of duty in Okinawa.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Lockard) Currey; his children, Dalyn (Beth) Currey, of Mickleton, N.J., Marti (Ron) Early, of Rumford, R.I., and Gregory (Rhonda) Currey, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his grandson, Christopher Early; his siblings, Darlene (Bernard) Marks, of Owensboro, Ky., Robert (Dian) Currey, of Salem, W.Va., and Karen Bernard, of McKeesport; and also nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Arol was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlene, Hugh, Mike, and Dick Currey.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, in the DANIEL F. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles, McKeesport, PA 15132, 412-678-3454.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in the funeral home, with the Rev. William Heaton officiating.
Procession and burial with full military honors will follow to Restland Lincoln Memorial Park in Monroeville.
