Born December 29, 1929 in Guin, Al he is the Son of the late George Young Adkins Sr. and Ethel Mae Webster Adkins. He had lived in Guin all of his life and was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army, a member of the Civitan Club, and the Guin Fire Department. He had worked for 3M Company for 37 years before retiring.
He is survived by his Wife, Rebecca Adkins, 2 Sons, John Adkins, Jr. (Laurie) and Tery Adkins (Tina) Granddaughter, Ashley Rhudy (Dawain) and Great Granddaughter Molly Kate Rhudy all of Guin, AL.
He was also preceded in death by a Brother, George Adkins, Jr..
Services held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Guin First United Methodist Church with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Rev. Tim Alexander and Rev. Belinda Freeman officiating.
